Camping Lakeside
If you are planning to summit the peak before sunrise, then your ascent could start as early as 4:00am. This is why it is virtually required to camp the night before, so that you can start your hike very early.
All the campsites are nested on the shores of Lake Nictau. The glass reflected lake is an oasis of serenity. An ideal location to unwind from your daily routine and connect with nature.
Reward Vs. Cost
The next morning the hike will be strenuous and difficult. Please be as safe as possible and plan accordingly. I like to start my ascent at least 2.5 hours before sunrise to allow for ample time to hike safely up the trail.
Right when your body is about to give up, dawn breaks the horizon and the ethereal scenery appears. An experience that rewards well more than it costs.
Fire On The Mountain
As fog rolls over the lake it gives an 'above the cloud' experience. The morning light pierces the landscape with warm energy as fog dances up the mountain.
Breakfast With a View!
As dawn turns into day the morning light awakens the surrounding landscape. Sit back and enjoy your breakfast with a view like no other.
Lago Nictau
In late summer fog rolls over Lake Nictau creating miraculous views. As the warm rising sun lights up the lake the fog creates a spectacular show.
